A pencil is one of the most important tools when it comes to learning in a school environment. Thanks to Dixon Ticonderoga Company and Lowe’s, 2.8M pencils have been donated nationwide to the Kids In Need Foundation of which Classroom Central is a part.

On February 22, 2017, we celebrated the pencil giveaway event in our Free Store. There were many giveaways and teachers were able to take more pencils than normal as the limit was increased to 50 pencils per teacher and a bonus 50 if teachers used the hashtag #ToolboxForEducation.

Classroom Central was lucky enough to have appearances by the following people:

Tim Gomez  recently stated, “Starting in 2009, I had a creative vision to make a significant difference in the lives of these underprivileged children through donating enough Dixon Ticonderoga pencils to the Kids In Need Foundation to reach the East Coast to the West Coast.  My aspiration was to celebrate the Foundation’s 20th birthday in 2015 by donating enough pencils, pencil end to end, to reach this goal, and we were successful in that objective. This 2nd annual pencil donation event allows me to continue this target—I am looking forward to continuing our partnership and journey with the KINF.”

Through five Kids In Need National Network Affiliates (Classroom Central being one), hundreds of classrooms across the country will receive brand new pencils. We are so thankful for Dixon Ticonderoga and Lowe’s for their wonderful contribution and pencil donation.
