Give Kids a Book, March 1-31

Join Classroom Central, the Public Library of Charlotte-Mecklenburg County and LittleOnes Magazine for the third annual Give Kids a Book drive to collect 22,500 new and gently used books for students in grades pre-k through 12. 

 

All books collected will be distributed through Classroom Central, a Free Store for teachers serving 86,000 students in six (6) school districts. 

 

Individuals, companies and groups are needed to support the drive by donating new and gently used age appropriate books.  Collection receptacles, tool-kits and posters are available for groups and companies hosting collections. 

 

Barnes & Noble Special Events:

March 2-15:  In Store Book Drive - purchase a book at Barnes & Noble and leave it with your cashier.  All donated books will be given to Classroom Central.  **Books must be purchased at Barnes & Noble; outside donations will not be accepted at these locations for security reasons.


March 8:  Storytime with Sir Purr at the Arboretum Barnes & Noble, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. 

March 10–16:  Barnes & Noble will donate 10% of your purchase to Classroom Central.  Click here for the required voucher.

 

Drop-off Sites:

Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

  •  All Charlotte area Starbucks
  • Classroom Central – 2116 Wilkinson Blvd.
  •  Additional drop off locations will be posted at a later date
