Every August Classroom Central, Communities In Schools, WSOC-TV, the NC Air National Guard and many other organizations partner to sponsor this major supply drive for the back-to-school season. School supplies are collected throughout the community to help ensure that all students start the new school year with the tools they need to be successful in the classroom. Thousands of students across Mecklenburg and surrounding counties receive new school supplies each year as Carolina Panthers fans kick off the new season by donating school supplies at a preseason home game. "Give Kids a Book" March 1-31
Give Kids a Book is a partnership between Classroom Central and LittleOnes Magazine to obtain new or gently-used books for children in grades Pre-K through 12th. Companies and community organizations serve as collection sites around the community. In March 2009, "Give Kids a Book" collected over 50,000 books for students in need in the Charlotte region! "Color a Brighter Future" Spring 2011
In spring, Classroom Central hosts our annual Color a Brighter Future philanthropy event. This fundraising luncheon is a one hour event open to the public. It includes entertainment from a local school, a teacher speaker as well as an update on Classroom Central. All are welcome to attend to learn more about Classroom Central and the students we serve.
